Midwife abandons half-finished hair appointment to deliver newborn baby

There are certain jobs you can’t just leave in the office at the end of the day – and it would appear midwifery is one of them.

This was the lesson learnt by hero midwife Carrie Hall, from Florida, who abandoned her half-finished hair appointment when one of her clients unexpectedly went into labour.

Hall’s stylist had just finished putting foils into her hair when she had to abruptly leave the salon and rush to hospital.

She shared an image of herself, foils and all, cradling the newborn baby in hospital with Frontier Nursing University, adding, "1st time for everything! Thought I'd share! I was at the salon and nature called!”

The University then shared the proud photograph on their Facebook page, where it has quickly garnered over 1,600 likes and been shared some 270 times (at the time of writing).

Aside from expressing delight at the “amazing” story, many Facebook users shared a similar concern – namely, that Hall’s hair was OK.

“Am I the only one that wants an update on the condition of her hair?” wrote one user, with another adding, “Man, I hope her hair doesn't fall out!”

Hall herself responded to the concern, explaining that she was – miraculously – back in the salon only 20 minutes after she initially left.

“I got back in my car, went back to the shop and finished my hair,” Hall told Café Mom

“Needless to say, momma, baby and my hair are great!”

Nicely done.
