We've never been able to get that excited about phone cases. Until now.

A Newcastle-based artist has made us fall in love with our phones again thanks to her knack for creating brilliant pop culture icons on cases.

As well as beloved characters from films such as Grease, The Breakfast Club, Clueless and Mean Girls, Cindy Lesman (Oh gosh, Cindy!) paints uncanny watercolour images of contemporary stars, including Mindy Kaling in character from her hit show The Mindy Project, Breaking Bad's Jessie Pinkman and a crying Kim Kardashian, to display on phone covers, greetings cards and T-shirts.

The 24-year-old Dutch national, who accompanies her illustrations with a classic quote or wry slogan, has sold almost 3,000 items on Etsy since she began stocking her products on the site just over a year ago.
