A young woman who was shamed by a fellow tube passenger over her revealing outfit was probably not expecting anyone else to notice the humiliating exchange.

But according to a witness, support came from what could be seen as an unlikely quarter - and the bold response certainly brightened our day.

Scott Sparrow's Facebook post is going viral after he described sitting on a London Underground train yesterday next to a young unnamed woman wearing a “revealing dress” who attracted the attention of a man in a suit opposite.

He then reports that the man leaned over and said, “Have some self respect when you dress yourself”. However, fortunately someone was quick to leap to her defence - and it's fair to say the rather colourful response has to be read in full.

While Sparrow's description of the woman's ardent defender is his own and not the words we would have chosen to describe our new favourite person, there's no arguing the exchange has the feel good factor - and we can only hope the sharing of the post might make some think twice about commenting on a total stranger's outfit and actively trying to make someone feel ashamed and embarrassed.
