Dust off your suitcase and ready that audition tape: Love Island’s winter spin-off show is officially open for applications.

So if you fancy yourself as the next Amber, Camilla or Olivia, and reckon you have a high enough tolerance for muggy-ness and dicksand, this could be your moment.

On the application site, ITV2 state that they are looking for “fun and vibrant singles from across the UK”  who would be up for taking part in “an African adventure” for the new show, called Survival of the Fittest.

Billed as the ultimate Love Island spin-off, the new series will take part in South Africa rather than Mallorca, and see contestants battling it out in physical challenges.

“A group of boys, and a group of girls will live together amid the wild beauty of the South African Savannah,” ITV2’s site adds.

“The boys and girls will compete against each other in a variety of challenges, in a bid to win an end of series cash prize.”

The show, airing later this year, will also have a healthy dose of romance programmed in, with contestants going on dates and, most likely, coupling up – only to then battle it out against each other the next day.

According to The Mirror, ITV2’s head of digital channels and acquisitions, Paul Mortimer, said: “ITV2’s younger audience will no doubt relish the escapism this immersive physical game show from sunny South Africa will provide next winter.

“Like Love Island before it, this series’ nightly mixture of fun challenges and burgeoning relationships ought to be must see.”

The announcement of the new show comes hot on the heels of the success of this summer’s series of Love Island, which gripped viewers up and down the nation and fuelled water cooler talk in offices across the land.

To appear on Survival of the Fittest, you’ll need to be over 18 years old and hold a valid passport. Applications will close on 30 November.
