If you're a city dweller who's always dreamed of living deep in a forest and high above the treetops then one architect has made that vision come true.
The world's first vertical jungle is to be built in Lausanne, Switzerland and will be home to both humans and 100 cedar trees, 6,000 shrubs and 18,000 plants.
Italian architect Stefano Boeri is behind the 117-meter-high tower aptly named La Tour des Cedres, which means The Tower of Cedars.
“This will make Lausanne a cutting-edge city in the global challenge to implement urban quality together with sustainability and biodiversity,” Boeri tells to Dezeen.
The plants are designed to protect residents from dust, noise pollution and harsh wind.
No matter how high, each private patio space will include a tree and a number of units will also face the adjacent Lake Geneva.
Boeri says it'll be the first tower of its height in the world to be covered with evergreen trees.
Last year, his studio built a pair of buildings in Milan (pictured above), featuring as many trees as could be planted in a hectare of forest.
One of the towers stands at 80 metres and the other 112 metres and together they utilise 480 large and medium size trees, 250 small size trees, 11,000 ground-cover plants and 5,000 shrubs.
Construction on La Tour des Cedres is set to begin in 2017 and a completion date is yet to be established.
