‘If women breastfeed in public, men should should be allowed to grab their nipples,’ says American Republican

Breastfeeding in public never ceases to be a contentious issue. But the argument has taken a whole new level in New Hampshire, America, after a Republican said that if a woman supports breastfeeding in public, she should have no problem with a man grabbing her nipple.

It was said in response to a Facebook post where New Hampshire state Rep. Amanda Bouldin criticised a number of Republicans for wanting to introduce a ban on women showing their breasts in public (with an exception for breastfeeding).

Under current laws, both men and women may expose their nipples, but some Republicans are backing a new bill to change that.

Bouldin slammed the bill as "sexist" on Facebook, saying that "The very least you could do is protect a mother's right to FEED her child."

Her colleague, Republican Rep. Josh Moore, responded with the kind of misogyny she was highlighting:

“Who doesn’t support a mothers right to feed?” Moore wrote. “Don’t give me the liberal talking points Amanda. If it’s a woman’s natural inclination to pull her nipple out in public and you support that, than you should have no problem with a mans inclantion to stare at it and grab it. After all, it’s ALL relative and natural, right?” (Sic)

Another Republican Rep., Al Baldasaro, also joined in to attack Bouldin's comments:

“Amanada, No disrespect, but your nipple would be the last one I would want to see. You want to turn our family beach’s into a pervert show. Liberterians want a nude beach, put your money together and buy one, if you want to expose you kids to nudity, go for it. Some of us liberty minded Reps do beleive in family values.”

Bouldin posted a screen grab of Moore's comments on twitter and others took to the platform to express their frustrations with the incident:

Boudin said on the matter: "To those who've been demanding an apology of Rep. Moore...or Rep. @Al_Baldasaro – I don't need that. Just kill the bill."
