Yoga and its restorative powers are already considered to be somewhat mighty, so what would happen, you might wonder, if a yoga class were to get the Hogwarts treatment?
Well Harry Potter fans, it has indeed happened, and by all accounts the results appear have been as magical as you’d expect.
To commemorate the anniversary of the deaths of Lily and James Potter—Harry’s parents, for all those short on their HP knowledge— sisters Isabel Belran, a yoga instructor, and Ximena Larkin, a PR pro who helped plan the event, decided to host their own Harry Potter themed yoga session on Sunday.
The pair, who hail from Texas, regularly host a Pints & Poses yoga class at Austin-based brewery Circle Brewing Co., but given the impending anniversary date, Halloween and also the start of the Day of the Day, they decided to spice things up this time around.
Cue wands incorporated into bending poses, and Harry Potter influenced guidance, such as; “Imagine you’re sitting on the Hogwart’s Express” during chair pose, and “come on, Dumbledore’s Army” during warrior two.
The class included cat to cow pose transfigurations (Dumbledore would be proud), Slytherin cobras, and back bends involving wands to summon a Patronus and cast off Dementors.
To wind down, yogis performed the Whomping Willow (tree pose), before resting under their invisibility cloaks as Belran read from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Then of course, the group tucked into Sorting Hat shaped cookies, drank from the Potion Station, and observed a mini Mandrake garden.
If you’re not feeling Muggle envy yet, take a look at these snaps from the event:

Now, time to begin planning how to introduce this concept to your own yogi circle.
