The Good News Report: A kind stranger devised a seriously creative method to return a lost wallet

The Good News Report brings you nothing but positive news about wonderful people, to uplift and inspire you. This week, the internet was seriously impressed with the lengths a kind stranger went to return a lost wallet, and Brie Larson had the most incredible reaction when two fans got engaged during her meet and greet.
This kind stranger went above and beyond to return a lost wallet
When Tim Cameron lost his wallet on the way home from work, he thought it was long gone. With little identifying information for anyone to return it to, Cameron had given up all hope. That was, until he checked his bank account – and saw four different 1p transfers each with a different reference attached.
Posting a screenshot of his bank statement on Twitter, Cameron revealed how the kind stranger had sent him a message through the references on each payment so that they read: “Hi. I found your wallet in the road,” followed by a phone number Cameron could call and then a note to “text or call!”
“This took creativity. Love seeing these acts of kindness. Thanks for sharing,” read one response.
Replying to the story, many Twitter users were quick to share their most life-affirming experiences when it came to the kindness of strangers.
“My son lost his wallet in central London and feared the worst,” one response read. “However, someone popped it in a post-box and Royal Mail found his address on his driving licence and sent it to us.
“Nothing was missing, there are more good people about than we think.”
Another added: “I found an iPhone in the bathroom at a grocery store. I asked Siri ‘Who am I?” and the phone told me the owner’s name. I went to customer service to ask them to page the person and noticed the first name of the person helping me. It was her phone. She didn’t know she left it behind.”
Brie Larson was witness to the most magical proposal at Comic Con this weekend, and her reaction was incredible
Few people are able to say they got engaged and met Brie Larson all at the same time, but that’s what came true for two Marvel fans at Comic Con this weekend.
During a meet and greet session with Larson, who starred as Captain Marvel earlier this year, John Chambrone got down on one knee to propose to his boyfriend Richard Owen.
The incredible moment was caught on camera – and of course they made their way straight to the internet. The pictures, which are probably the most joyful thing you’ll see all week, feature Larson stood behind the pair as Chambrone gets down on one knee – and records her reaction as Owen says yes and the pair share a kiss.
“Y’all I was present for a proposal and I am CHANGED,” the actress and former Stylist guest editor wrote above the photos on Twitter. “Much love to the happy couple!!!!”

Below Larson’s tweet one user also shared a screenshot from the event’s official forum, where Chambrone had expressed his thanks to the Marvel star and the event for allowing the proposal to happen.
“Dear Brie,” he writes, “First off THANK YOU for making yourself accessible to your fans. Sorry to ‘ambush’ you with the proposal, but there is a reason why once I knew we were going to meet you, that it would be the perfect opportunity to pledge my love to Richard Owen and promise to love him forever.”
Chambrone then goes on to explain why the Marvel universe – and specifically Larson’s film – means so much to the couple.

“I met Richard earlier this year and once our eyes locked for the first time, we both knew we found our soulmates,” he continues. “Our first real date was to see ‘Captain Marvel’ – it was actually his first MCU film and he instantly became a fan!”
The post concludes: “Meeting you today, and being able to profess my love and commitment to my boyfriend in front of you truly meant the world to me, and to us! Looking forward to how higher, further and faster my love grows daily with Richard Owen! THANK YOU!!”
