Whatever you do, try not to be late.

We are cordially invited to the biggest wedding of the year, and there’s not a royal in sight.

Following the success of Red Nose Day Actually, a sequel to Love Actually, fundraising event Comic Relief is once again bringing us an exclusive film that follows on from a British classic.

One Red Nose Day and A Wedding is the sequel to, you guessed it, the 1994 classic Four Weddings and a Funeral. Announced last year, we’ve finally received our official invitation to the event of the year in the form of a teaser trailer.

The sequel reunites much of the original cast, including Hugh Grant, Andie McDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, Sophie Thompson, Rowan Atkinson and John Hannah.

Four Weddings and a Funeral, written by Richard Curtis, followed committed bachelor Charles (Grant), as he fell in love with McDowell’s Carrie.

The just-released trailer for One Red Nose Day and a Wedding features all the actors dressed in their wedding best, saying their name before inviting viewers to the special day.

In a nod to the original film, which opens with Grant and the late Charlotte Colman’s characters swearing profusely as they rush to a wedding, Grant ends the invite by saying: “And please, try not to be late.”

The trailer also reveals there will be some surprise guests. Photos from the filming show Lily James wearing a wedding dress, and according to the Radio Times Susanna Reid will also make an appearance.

Curtis, who has also written the sequel, has previously revealed that the film will include a wedding and a reception, where the characters reunite.

It’s been 25 years since Four Weddings and a Funeral was released, and we can’t wait to see what our favourites have been up to.

We definitely won’t be late.

One Red Nose Day and a Wedding will air on 15 March as part of the Comic Relief broadcast on the BBC.
