Doctor Who has regenerated as Little Miss for Mr Men books.
When it was announced earlier this year that Jodie Whitaker would take the helm as the next (and first female) Doctor Who it certainly got people talking.
Speaking at the time about playing the Doctor, the critically-acclaimed actor said: “It feels completely overwhelming, as a feminist, as a woman, as an actor, as a human, as someone who wants to continually push themselves and challenge themselves, and not be boxed in by what you’re told you can and can’t be.
“This is a really exciting time, and Doctor Who represents everything that’s exciting about change,” she said, adding: “The fans have lived through so many changes, and this is only a new, different one, not a fearful one.”
Now, another major accomplishment has been announced: Doctor Who has regenerated as Little Miss for Mr Men books.
That’s right, a Time Lord has been transformed into a Time Lady.
As part of the Doctor Who Mr Men series, the book has been written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves, the son of Roger Hargreaves.
All we know so far is that the childhood bedtime story staple will follow the Doctor as she and three friends, Yasmin, Ryan and Graham celebrate Yasmin’s birthday, which turns into an explosive surprise.
Taking to Twitter, the publisher made the announcement with a brilliant video.
And people have already got excited about it.
“Can’t wait. Love this series so much,” one user posted.
Another user wrote: “Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.”
The book will be published on 6 November - with a limited hardback edition available, too. In the meantime, take a look at our interview with Little Miss Sunshine.
