Some superfans have taken their love of Doctor Who to creative extremes, mixing two of their passions - crafts and the cult TV show - to produce unusual tributes to the programme, as we reveal below:
Doctor Who Crocheted Dolls
These dolls, depicting the Doctor and his side-kick Amy Pond (played by Gillan) and hand-crocheted by Kim Tairi, are just one example of a growing number of crochet tributes to the cult show.
More crocheted Doctor Who creations; this time featuring not only the Doctor and Amy (with her trademark flame-red hair), but also a crocheted dalek. These dolls were made by Kati, whose crochet collection also includes versions of David Tennant's Doctor and Catherine Tate's Donna character.
Tardis Cross-Stitch
A further needle-made Doctor Who tribute come courtesy of ElfStitch, who has not only created this 'tardis, sweet tardis' cross-stich picture, but also the accompanying pattern which is available to buy from Etsy - and no doubt takes pride of place above many a Who fan's mantlepiece.
Doctor Who Charms
Delicately scuplted and hand-painted, these big-eyed mini charms of the Doctor Amy Pond from Wonderland Contraband are made to order.
Amy Pond Peg Doll
RandomlyGenerated is an entire Etsy store dedicated to peg people, including this version of Karen Gillan's Amy Pond. Other characters available from the store include Mad Men peg people and an Emma Watson as Hermione Granger creation.
