Imagine Belle as a bad-ass character in Street Fighter II, one of the most popular video games of the 90s, and her book was her weapon.
A new series of pixel art by San Francisco designer Mike Villamejor has done just that. Following the success of his first collection of Disney Princesses re-imagined as Street Fighter characters, which he released last year on his Tumblr page and included Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella, he has finished it off with the remaining and new female leads in Disney.
The new pixel art features Belle, with yellow knee-high boots and a book in hand, and Elsa, the latest Disney Princess from Frozen', who can create ice from her bare hands.
Street Fighter II is considered to be the first one-on-one fighting video game and one of the gaming industry's biggest success stories to date.
Designer Villamejor, who is known by the name, Mike V, had to capture the princesses within the 16-bit pixels restriction that all Street Fighter II characters have to make them as reminiscent of the classic video game as possible.
Now we only wish someone would animate them and put them in a real Street Fighter game.
