This deleted scene from The Devil Wears Prada changes everything

We don’t like to brag, but we can pretty much quote every cut-throat one-liner delivered by Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. So you can understand how excited we were to stumble across a never-before-seen deleted scene from the hit movie all these years later.

Believe it or not, it’s been 10 years since the film hit the big screen – which makes it even more incredible that this binned scene has only just surfaced online.

Weirder still? It shows us a completely new side to Miranda Priestley.

Drawing our attention to the clip, Spencer Althouse shared it on her Twitter feed. “I'm just seeing this deleted scene from The Devil Wears Prada for the first time, and honestly it changed the whole movie for me,” she captioned it.

Take a peek for yourself:

The clip features an extended version of the black tie event scene – and there’s no denying it could’ve led us to a very different magazine editor persona.

In the original version, Miranda Priestly – played by the incredible Meryl Streep – is accompanied by her two assistants, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), as they whisper in her ear the names and personal details of all the guests in attendance.

But in the deleted version, things take a turn for the dramatic when Miranda’s loutish husband appears and makes a scene. It’s up to Andy to save the day, diving in to stop an important guest from being insulted by said husband.

It’s at this moment that Priestley mouths two very unexpected words at her assistant: ‘Thank you’.

This from the very same woman who later goes on to utter that fateful line of: ‘By all means move at a glacial pace. You know how much that thrills me.’

Naturally, social media users have been left totally #shook by the deleted scene – and have taken to Twitter in their droves to point out that it could’ve turned the entire film on its head:

Fans of Miranda’s particular brand of cutting criticism will no doubt be thankful the decision was made to bin it, but there’s no denying it brings up an interesting, previously unknown side to the character
