Your Facebook’s feed is already bursting with cute pets doing cute things. You don’t need to see anymore… oh, wait, who are we kidding? Step this way and meet Cindi the pregnant sausage dog, who has just taken part in her first ever maternity photo shoot. Yep, you heard us right.

Cindi’s owner, Australian photographer Vicki Miller, felt the pregnant four-year-old dachshund deserved the same experience as the human mothers she has photographed - so she dressed her up in a flower crown and snapped her while she frolicked in a variety of pretty locations. 

Turns out, Cindi was very comfortable doing the shoot: “She was really good,” said owner Vicki in an interview with Australian news channel 9 News. “She posed up. I think she thought she was so hot.”

Cindi does have modelling form though: when the dog was a puppy she took part in a newborn shoot, mimicking the sort of photographs humans do with their new additions. Except, way cuter because, well, she’s a silky sausage dog covered in rolls of furry fat.

The latest photo shoot has been an inspiration, with Vicki now fielding a stream of calls from other pet parents. “I have had a request to take maternity photos of someone’s pregnant horse and another inquiry about a newborn shoot for a brand new litter of kittens,” she said.

Now we just have to wait a few days for the puppies arrive. Good luck, Cindi!
