While sporting events involving jumping may generally be reserved for Olympians and horses, its all about the rabbits at the Kaninhop Club in the village of Jena, Germany, which recently held a rabbit jumping competition. Originally a Scandinavian sport, each competing rabbit hops over a variety of miniature sized jumps, and each rabbit is scored based on how many jumps they clear.

The star of Jena was Snoopy (pictured above), who actually competes in different bunny hop contests across Germany. Claudia Fehlen, Snoopy's proud owner, says that the talented rabbit can jump around round 60cm high. However, the world record for the highest bunny jump is 99.5cm - so Snoopy still has a long way to go... er, jump.

Below are our favourite action shots of rabbits from the bunny hop competition in Jena.

Meet the appropriately named Cotton Candy, who clearly gave the competition at Jena her best shot. Such form!

Judging from his expression, James the rabbit clearly takes the competition seriously. Here he is, flawlessly launching himself over the first obstacle at the Kaninhop Club course.

James springs in to action, just clearing yet another high obstacle.
