Chrissy Teigen publicly shames John Legend for stealing her phone charger

When John Legend ‘borrowed’ Chrissy Teigen’s phone charger without asking first, she knew exactly what to do about it…

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend might be one of the internet’s favourite couples, but the model has always politely shut down anyone who dares dub them “relationship goals”.

For example, when she shared a Snapchat video of Legend attempting to untangle her necklaces after a night of drunken partying at the Grammy Awards, and fans began raining down praise upon the couple for being so ‘inspirational’, Teigen was having none of it.

“How is John taking off my jewellery ‘relationship goals’?” she asked them.

“Like, your f**king boyfriend won’t take your necklace off? JFC just leave him.”

For those who aren’t down with their acronyms, “jfc” means, of course, “Jesus f***ing Christ”.

Since then, Teigen has made a point about being incredibly honest about her relationship – even going so far as to leak her and Legend’s private text messages on Twitter to prove a point.

And now, in a hilarious new thread, she has revealed that Legend has committed the ultimate 2018 crime: ‘borrowing’ a phone charger without asking first. Otherwise known as stealing a phone charger, because the word ‘borrow’ implies a returning of property. And, as we all know, people who “borrow” phone chargers tend to leave them wherever they use them, with nary a care or consideration in the world.

Thankfully, though, Teigen has now shown us how to deal with techno-thieves.

First, you need to issue an ever-so-sarcastic (and wonderfully passive aggressive) shout-out on social media.

“Yes, John Legend, I buy and leave all the phone chargers all around the house just so you can unplug them all and take them to work with you,” wrote Teigen, in a bid to show us all how it’s done. “All of them!”

Then, getting dangerously addicted to her exclamation marks, she added: “I love that you love chargers! They’re all for you! I just love you that’s why I buy them. Because you love them!”

And she didn’t stop there, either: instead, she did a little bit of online shopping and bought herself one of these…

Purchase made, Teigen issued a challenge to her husband.

“Take this one, you thief,” she wrote simply.

You may think that this is a flawed plan: after all, unicorns are incredibly in vogue and Legend would be happy to have one.

However, Teigen is clearly wily as a fox: all it takes is a quick scroll through the Twitter reactions to discover that this particular charger is “a trap”.

“Isn’t this the one that fried your phone?” asked one user, tagging her pal in the post.

“Yes,” confirmed the friend immediately.

“It fries phones,” added another, “so she will leave it out for him [Legend]… as a trap!”

Touché, Teigen. Touché… we may just have to pick up one of these bad boys ourselves and leave it temptingly on our desk for the next techno thief to find… and regret.
