The best companies to work for this year have been revealed – and you might find some surprising…

If you’re on the hunt to find a new workplace environment that offers a good work-life balance along with perks, then stay tuned.

By analysing data and actions from LinkedIn’s 546 million members and focusing on companies with over 500 employees, the online networking site found the companies that are topping the charts in terms of job satisfaction.

By focusing on job seeker reach, engagement, job interest, and employee retention, they concluded on the top 20 companies in the UK people most want to work for. And as luck would have it, people really want to work for the same company where they buy their clothing: ASOS

“Our ASOS-ers live and breathe our values of authenticity, creativity and bravery in everything they do,” says Holly Middlemiss, talent brand and engagement partner at ASOS. “It’s equally important for us to reflect these through our employer brand, bringing to life our unique culture internally and externally.

“At ASOS we do things not just to simply tick a box – rather, we genuinely care, we want to do the right thing and see the value in doing so. You spend a majority of your life at work, so why shouldn’t it be with a company you love, where you believe you’re making a positive difference and feel truly valued?”

The fashion retailer scooped second place last year, so maybe its staff perks and long service awards are hitting the right note.

The BBC also scored highly, even though in recent months the broadcaster has been accused of a gender pay gap issue.

L’Oréal may have scored 14th place, but the global company scooped first place in the world ranking by Equileap for gender equality in 2017.
