It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for…

Mark your calendars because everyone’s favourite drag queen, Alyssa Edwards will soon be gracing the small screen in a big way.

From larger-than-life hair to impeccable art-like makeup and trademark tongue popping, the RuPaul Drag Race star is back with her very own series.

From the trailer, the eight-episode docuseries entitled Dancing Queen (well, duh) looks full of tears, tantrums and tiaras – the drag way. Throughout the series, Edwards, the stage name of Justin Johnson, teaches children how to dance in his own dance studio, Johnson’s Beyond Belief Dancing Company in Mesquite, Texas.

And people are already too excited.

“Yas! *tongue pop*,” one user posted.

Another posted: “So excited for this!”

Not only are we getting Drag Race meets Step Up vibes - but this statement in the trailer,“The power of drag is giving someone the courage. The wig is a cape to the superhero”, is giving us all the feels.

We’re expecting to hear once again: “Girl, I’m gagging” and “Don’t get bitter, just get better”. Along with fierce facial expressions in the mirror.

Edwards has already taken to Instagram to share the news with his followers.

In the words of Edwards: I’m back, I’m back, I’m back again!

The eight-episode first season of Dancing Queen launches on Netflix on 5 October 2018.
