The first ever New Year’s Eve calendar is here to make the 2020 countdown even more fun

We didn’t realise there was a New Year’s countdown calendar-shaped hole in our lives until now.

We’re pretty sure you’re familiar with the concept of advent calendars. There are beauty advent calendars laden with lipsticks and beauty blenders, alcohol advent calendars stuffed full with wee drams of whisky or mini prosecco bottles.

Heck, there are even stationery advent calendars hiding pretty pencils and notebooks behind their doors. We thought we had advent calendars coming out of our ears.

But it turns out we were missing something all along: a New Year’s Eve advent calendar. The concept is relatively unheard of, with Aldi claiming they’ve created the first of its kind.

For many, New Year’s Eve is the biggest party of the year and involves dressing up and going out. So, Aldi have created the New Year Beauty Countdown calendar to help you prepare in the run up to the glitziest night of the year.

Behind each door you’ll find a different beauty product to help you feel pampered, including Healthy Glow Retinol Toner to completely cleanse skin and ease any signs of redness, Lacura Pink Clay Mask to leave skin feeling hydrated and Lacura’s Healthy Glow Rose Oil, which can be added to moisturiser for a glowy boost. Other highlights include perfume and a hot cloth cleanse, with many more surprises, too.

The calendar is spectacularly good value, priced at £14.99 for the six miniature products, all designed to help you feel your best before celebrating the turn of the new year.

On the back of the calendar you’ll find detailed descriptions of each product and how to use them, which is especially helpful as they all complement each other.

You’ll have to wait to get your hands on one, though, as the New Year Beauty Countdown calendar won’t be in stores until 21 November.

After all, why should the fun stop on Christmas day?
