Set the date on your calendar and look out your elasticated waist trousers because a cheese festival is coming to the UK next year – bringing with it ALL the cheeses.
The Big Cheese Festival will open its doors at Brighton Racecourse in March 2018, and as self-proclaimed cheese lovers we’re already rejoicing.
The sunny seaside town will host cheesemakers and mongers from all across the world, bringing with them the tastiest and smelliest cheeses out there.
Which means that, from halloumi fries to old school 70s classic fondue and everyone’s favourite Raclette, the cheese choices on offer will be positively endless.
And it’s not just le fromage on offer: from craft beers to sophisticated spirits and a multitude of wines, there will be a plethora of boozy drinks to try, too (as well as a few expert cheese-and-alcohol pairing tips).
As if that weren’t enough to coax you in, there’s also the promise of non-stop entertainment. Think local bands, comedy acts, and DJs blasting out some of the cheesiest tunes around.
More guest chefs, showcase speakers and must-see bands will be announced in due course before the event kicks off, so stay tuned, cheese lovers.
The Big Cheese Festival will be open from 10-6pm on Saturday 3 March at Brighton Racecourse, Freshfield Road. Tickets are priced at £19.25 (including transaction fee) and are available to buy online – but early bird tickets have already sold out, so you better be quick if you want to make your cheesy dreams a reality.
