It’s no secret that pink has had quite the evolution in recent years. First came ‘millennial’ pink, that sickly bubblegum shade found everywhere across Instagram throughout the mid 2010s. Later Viva Magenta, the Pantone colour of the year for 2023, brought back the era of bold, deep pinks, perfect for the maximalists among us. Then, of course, we were introduced to Barbiecore bright, which firmly cemented the hue as en-vogue as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film swept across the world and grossed over $1 billion at the box office.

In 2024, however, we’re opting for a warming, lighter tone. Fitting, then, that Dulux announced Sweet Embrace, a soft, blushing pink as its colour of the year for 2024, inspiring us to swap out our neutrals for something perky yet still subtle.
