With Barbiecore and various shades of pink among the biggest trends of the year, it’s safe to say that Pantone hit the nail on the head when naming the hot pink shade of Vivid Magenta as its colour prediction for 2023. And now, the colour authority has unveiled its shade for 2024: Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz.

The velvety and gentle peach fuzz is all about embracing our “need for nurturing, empathy and compassion” as so much turmoil and uncertainty grips the world. A warm shade that highlights the desire for community and togetherness, Peach Fuzz “presents a fresh approach to a new softness”.

“A cosy peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, Peach Fuzz brings belonging, inspires recalibration and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel and heal and to flourish from whether spending time with others or taking the time to enjoy a moment by ourselves,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute.

The introduction of 2024’s Peach Fuzz also marks the 25th anniversary of the Pantone colour of the year programme, which kicked off in 1999 with the shade Cerulean Blue.

“We’re grateful to provide an avenue where designers and colour enthusiasts all over the world can engage in a conversation about colour, be inspired by colour and showcase their creativity within their communities,” says Eiseman.
