Wondering what colours, textures and trends to bring into your home now the weather is getting warmer? Etsy has you covered.

As someone who’s recently moved flat, I know firsthand the fun – and chaos – that comes with decorating a home. Sure, my favourite vases and cushions matched perfectly with the white walls in my last home – but how will they look against the vivid green wall in my new living room or the umber shade I’ve opted to paint my bedroom in? Needless to say, with the new season and a new space, I’m looking for fresh homeware pieces.

If you can relate (whether you’ve moved home recently or just want to refresh your space), you might be wondering what homeware trends are set to be huge for spring/summer 2025. Luckily, the trend experts at Etsy have you covered: the brand has recently released one of its coveted trend reports, this time focusing on the top trends for spring and summer. “This season, ‘midimalism’ is setting the tone – where statement pieces meet everyday ease and personal style feels more natural than ever,” explains Etsy trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson. “Whether you’re embracing playful coquette chaos, layering in rustic European elegance, having a futuristic metallic moment or making waves with fresh takes on nautical-inspired pieces, spring/summer 2025 is all about embracing creativity in a way that’s both intentional and unapologetically you.”

Keen to find out more? Here are the top six trends for the upcoming season that you should know about.

Island luxe

Don’t worry, we won’t spoil the finale of The White Lotus if you haven’t caught up yet… but the show’s resort vibe is set to influence interiors this season. According to Etsy, this trend incorporates breezy linens, fruit-inspired looks and natural textures like raffia to serve up a sun-kissed glamour with a touch of beachside indulgence.

Galactic metallic

Gone are the days when space-inspired interiors were just cool for astrology fans – these looks have entered the mainstream and are set to stay. This trend channels silver everything, metallic textures and deep blue shades to emulate the night sky. Plus, if you’re looking to bring this look into the kitchen, Etsy reports that searches for crystal mugs are up 700%.

If you’re a fan of romantic interiors (we’re talking frills, embroidery and soft textures) then this is the look for you. In addition to adding texture, you might want to think about shopping for some vintage pieces, like glassware or mirrors, to really bring the trend to life.

Messy coquette

The coquette aesthetic dominated Instagram and TikTok feeds in 2024, but this updated version gives it a cool-girl edge. Ruffles will be everywhere – from cushions to napkins. Plus, if you have any old pieces in your home that need some new life breathed into them, dressing them up with a bow or two will really suit this style.

Literary girl

With ‘literary girl’ set to be a huge trend for the upcoming season, this is the sign to treat yourself and finally create that reading nook you’ve been dreaming about. Etsy says that 20,000 book related purchases are made on its site every day – showing just how popular this style is. Decorate your bookshelf with some pressed flowers and candles and you’ll be good to go.

Maritime living

According to Stylist’s expert fashion team, the ‘fisherman aesthetic’, is going to be everywhere this season – and the trend extends into the world of interiors, too. Expect to see sardine motifs on everything from bathmats to side plates and add ocean-inspired tranquillity to your space by opting for sea glass accents and handcrafted details.
