A new BBC investigation has found it would take more than eight years for the NHS to see all adult patients waiting for ADHD assessments in many parts of the UK. But this increase in referrals also means it’s often wrongly dismissed as simply ‘a trend’ – a damaging consequence that must stop, writes Kat Brown.
