When you think of lung cancer, what immediately comes to mind? A man in his 70s, wheezing and puffing after decades smoking 40-a-day? Whatever imagine you’ve got, it’s probably not of 30-something women who run, dance, cycle and have never smoked. But non-smoking lung cancer is on the rise among younger women, and it’s a disease that has confounded doctors and oncologists. Here, writer Allie Anderson chats to three such women about their stage IV diagnoses and why they’re positive about what the future may hold.
