When writer Colette Earley found a little red patch on her forehead, she put it down to eczema. But it wasn’t long before she realised something more sinister might be at play. Precancerous lesions are on the rise. Why? Well, it may have something to do with the fact that swathes of the UK are still using sunbeds and, according to a study published earlier this year by the American Academy Of Dermatology, 28% of 18–26-year-olds don’t believe that tanning causes skin cancer.
