Ready to discover your new favourite brunch place? Treat yourself to a fresh and tasty breakfast with the help of this guide to the best healthy breakfast cafes and restaurants in London.

There’s something particularly elite about going out for breakfast. You can cook yourself a fancy dinner at home any day, but no one’s got the time to pull together a multi-dish breakfast extravaganza (unless it’s a super special occasion) that’s both tasty and good for you.

Getting to enjoy a nutritionally balanced, filling breakfast is also the perfect way to set yourself up for the day ahead – ideal when you’ve got a big day at work or need to get lots done. And luckily for us, London is full of places that understand just how important breakfast is.

The only problem is deciding which of the incredible cafes and restaurants to go to. So, to help you narrow down your shortlist, we’ve put together this guide to some of our favourite healthy breakfast places across the capital, from Farm Girl to 26 Grains. Bon appétit

Friends Of Ours

Friends Of Ours is the place to go if you fancy something a little unique. Nestled in N1, this neighbourhood restaurant boasts an extensive menu made from high-quality, local ingredients.

Its new autumn menu is out now; some highlights include the creamed corn, truffled wild mushrooms and walnut gremolata on sourdough toast and the baked brioche with sour blackberry, quince compote, pistachio custard, toasted pepitas and lemon sorrel. Yum.

The Good Life Eatery

The Good Life Eatery prides itself on helping its customers become happier and healthier, and its food is guaranteed to leave your tastebuds very content.

While its menu is an all-day concept (meaning you can order any of the items on its menu at any time of the day) its selection of breakfast-related items, including creamy vegan porridge, a fresh acai bowl and chestnut and almond waffles, make it a worthy of a place on this list.

Farmer J

Farmer J may be best known for its range of delicious and healthy Field Trays, but its new breakfast menu ticks all the boxes too.

The number of on-the-go options makes this the ideal place for health-conscious foodies to stop by on the way to work. Alongside some classic porridges and breakfast rolls, you’ll find egg pots, chia pudding and overnight oats. What’s not to love?

Volonté

Two out of three of Volonté’s locations include both a cafe and an exercise studio, but the brand has become famous among London’s health-conscious community for all the flavoursome, nutritionally balanced meals that feature on its menu.

The brainchild of nutritionist and Cordon Bleu graduate Vidushi Binani, Volonté’s menu is packed full of fresh ingredients. The Coco Loco smoothie bowl and sweet potato fritters are just two of the tasty items on offer.

26 Grains

Nestled in the bustling environment of Neal’s Yard, the 26 Grains menu isn’t extensive, but the items it does have are packed full of flavour and health-boosting ingredients. The strawberry porridge – which brings together coconut yoghurt, strawberry and balsamic coulis and pistachio granola – is a prime example of how unique and delicious this place’s food is.

You can’t book a table here – it’s walk-in only – so you might have to wait to get a table if you visit at a busy time. But it’s worth the wait.

Farmacy

This plant-based restaurant in Notting Hill prides itself on being both sustainable and nutritious, and its menu is packed full of classic dishes with a health-focused edge.

Its brunch is particularly special: stand-out dishes on the menu include the superfood sundae, which is a mix of date and maca caramel superfood swirl, fresh banana, coconut yoghurt, sweet oat crumble and berry compote, and corn breakfast fritters served with guacamole, grilled tomato, peppered tofu and rocket. Mouthwatering stuff.

Salt The Radish

This female-owned and led cafe in Finsbury Park may just be one of north London’s best-kept secrets.

Because the menu is influenced by the seasons, the breakfast foods on offer differ throughout the year. In the winter, locals flock to the cafe to enjoy the signature porridge; in the summer, its fresh fruit and granola become the stars of the show.
