Embrace all things Barbiecore at these 9 perfectly pink London venues

From shimmering pink cocktail bars to what’s surely the most Instagrammed staircase in London, here’s our guide to the capital’s best Barbiecore hotspots.

Thanks to Greta Gerwig’s much-anticipated movie, there’s only one contender for the colour of the summer: Barbie pink.

Ever since the first trailer dropped earlier this year, we’ve been counting down the days until Barbie lands in cinemas, and Margot Robbie’s sensational press tour wardrobe, featuring real-life versions of iconic Barbie looks, has only served to cement our obsession.

With the film’s release just around the corner, what better way to make the most of its opening weekend than by planning a trip to one of London’s most Barbie-tastic eating and drinking hotspots? Here are some of our favourites…

Tonight Josephine

Neon signs! A mirrored ceiling! Iridescent pink foil curtains on the walls! We’re sure if Barbie and Ken started their trip to the real world in London rather than Los Angeles, they’d have felt right at home at Tonight Josephine, which now boasts a Shoreditch output in addition to the OG Waterloo venue (home to that much-snapped ‘Well behaved women don’t make history’ sign).

The Wallace Restaurant

For a low-key take on Barbiecore, explore an exhibition at the Wallace Collection then drop in at their airy courtyard dining spot, which is painted the most exquisite shade of pale pink.

Blush pink with a hint of blue, Poke House’s decor is inspired by LA cool. We can just see Barbie and Ken making a stop off here after a long day at the beach.

Beautiful restaurant bathrooms in London: Annabel's

Annabel’s

Legendary members’ club Annabel’s isn’t exactly easy to visit for the majority of us, but if you do get a chance, make a beeline for the bathroom. Yes, really – the pale pink quartz sinks, floral ceiling and intricately wrought taps make it a sight to behold.

Peggy Porschen

With its eye-catching floral arches around the entrance, pale pink exterior and menu packed with beautiful cakes and delicious macarons, Peggy Porschen is one of London’s original influencer magnets. Many have copied its Barbietastic formula, but few have pulled it off with such panache.

Frank’s Cafe at Bold Tendencies

Is the bright pink stairwell leading up to Frank’s rooftop bar probably one of the most Instagrammed spots in the capital? It surely has to be in the top 10; every summer, it’s clamouring with Londoners making the most of this fuchsia photo opportunity.

Brasserie of Light

If one Barbietastic bathroom on this list wasn’t enough for you, here’s another. The facilities at Selfridges’ Brasserie of Light are seriously pretty in pink, decked out in rosy marble with art deco-style mirrors (and the restaurant itself’s not bad either…)

Girlfriend

Whoever said that pink and green should never be seen clearly hadn’t visited Girlfriend in Clapham Junction, where forest green velvet banquettes sit against powder pink walls to seriously stylish effect.

EL&N London

Flower walls, love hearts and neon: the vibe at EL&N’s various London outposts (there are now 10 of them in total, including one at Heathrow’s Terminal 3) is anything but subdued, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
