From 20” shares to tasty individual slices, Stylist shares where to find the best pizza in London this summer.
One thing you can rely on the Italians to do better than most is warm-weather dining, from fresh caprese salads to ice-cold gelato, all washed down with a tangy Aperol spritz.
But if you’re not heading to Naples, Florence or Rome this summer and still want a slice (pardon the pun) of the action, why not head to one of London’s many Italian pizzerias?
Because yes, pizza is always a good idea, no matter the season, but is there anything better than a hot, melty four-cheese slice on a balmy June evening? Or a giant margherita shared in the sunshine between friends in the local park?
From neighbourhood hotspots to the very best chains, here is the Stylist guide to finding the best pizza in the city for summer.
Florencio
Address: 14 Seymour Pl, London W1H 7NF
Rudy’s Pizza
For the ultimate Neapolitan pizza experience, Rudy’s is the place to go. Start with juicy Sicilian nocellara olives and a whole burrata before moving on to the extensive main menu. Our favourites include the salame (topped with creamy fior de latte mozzarella) or the romagnola with prosciutto and rocket. The pizza dough is soft, light and floppy, making it perfect for dipping in Rudy’s signature ’nduja aioli or hot honey sauces.
Locations across London
Theo’s
Offering both a lighter lunch and a full dinner menu, south-east London haunt Theo’s is a local favourite. Choose between delicious flavour combinations like asparagus and cured egg yolk and aubergine and basil or go classic with stracciatella.
Address: 2 Grove Ln, London SE5 8SZ
Yard Sale Pizza
Cult spot Yard Sale Pizza is known for its epic collaborations: think a Bleeker Burger birthday pizza, topped with burger patties, secret seasoning and finished with a drizzle of iconic house sauce. For those with more classic taste, their saucy margherita (with sizes up to 18”) isn’t to be missed.
Locations across London
Japes
Fancy something a bit more substantial? Soho spot Japes was one of the first to bring Chicago’s famous deep-dish pizza to the capital, making it the go-to place for an authentic treat. Don’t leave without trying the Sister Chick pizza, topped with chicken tenders, mozzarella, buttermilk ranch, baby spinach, blue cheese and parmesan.
Address: 22-25 Dean St, London W1D 3RY
Oi Vita Pizzeria
Address: 67 Newington Green Rd, London N1 4QU
Homeslice
The home of the 20” wood fired pizza, there’s no way you’ll leave Homeslice hungry. Menu highlights include a salami, rocket and parmesan pizza or mushroom, ricotta and pumpkin topping. For a lighter bite, you can take away by the slice or enjoy with friends.

Pizzeria Pellone
Address: 42 Lavender Hill, London SW11 5RL
