From sizzling gyoza to soft soup dumplings, here are nine places to enjoy dumplings of every kind in London.
Dark, rainy January days call for one thing: good food. But if you’re a little bit fed up with hearty roast dinners and warming soups, dumplings are the ultimate dish to turn to when you need a little comfort. But with so many varieties to choose between – wontons, gyoza, soup dumplings and pierogies to name but a few – it can be hard to decide just where to begin.
Luckily we’ve done the hard work for you. From crowd-pleasing snacks at Dumpling Shack to luxury dim sum on the fourth floor of Harrods, these are nine of the best spots in the city for dumplings of every kind.

Ugly Dumpling
Combining Western ingredients and Asian home recipes to elevate and refine the perception of the humble dumpling, menu highlights at the Carnaby Street location include a classic meat platter (featuring pork, duck and satay chicken) as well as a special Ukrainian potato and onion dumpling.
Address: 1 Newburgh St, Carnaby, London W1F 7RB
The Dim Sum Terrace at Harrods
Address: Room 87, Harrods, 87-135 Brompton Rd, London SW1X 7XL

Fatt Pundit
Fatt Pundit’s signature momo dumplings are some of the city’s most beloved dumplings. Originally from Nepal but a common street food across India, especially Kolkata, the birthplace of Indochinese cuisine, momos are steamed dumplings filled with a choice of kid goat, beef, chicken or veg. Enjoy them steamed to order at the restaurant and served with two spicy house chutneys.
Address: 6 Maiden Ln, London WC2E 7NA
Dumpling Shack
For a delicious yet low-key lunchtime snack, head to Dumpling Shack in Spitalfields Market. We recommend the piping hot pork pan-fried soup dumplings or the vegan wontons served in Sichuan chilli oil.
Address: Old Spitalfields Market, Brushfield St, London E1 6BG
Chop Chop at The Hippodrome
A casino in one of London’s busiest squares may sound like a strange place to find quality dumplings, but trust us. Not only is Chop Chop (by Four Seasons) renowned for its roast duck, it also offers a premium dim sum menu of chicken chiu chow and tasty shiitake mushroom dumplings.
Address: Hippodrome, Cranbourn Street, London WC2H 7JH
The Soak
Address: Terminus Pl, London SW1W 0RP
Mamuśka! Polish Kitchen
Serving up traditional Polish pierogies, head to Mamuśka! Polish Kitchen on London’s Southbank, which offers pork, goat’s cheese and mixed sets of the famous dumpling.
