Please read the below essential information about the Strong Women Trek.
TIMINGS
Date: Sunday 26 September
Distance: 22K
Start venue and registration: Ye Olde Greene Manne Pub & Restaurant, Batchworth Heath, Rickmansworth WD3 1QB
Start time: From 8.30am to 10am
Route closes: 6pm
The Trek takes approximately five and a half hours to walk at a normal walking pace (excluding any stops for refreshments or lunch), if you prefer to walk at a more leisurely pace, then please do arrive early to be ready to set off at 8.30am. Please note that the course will close at 6pm.
Please be aware the trek route is entirely outside and the Strong Women Trek will still go ahead as planned, even in the event of inclement weather.
COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY
We request that everyone takes a lateral flow test on the morning of the event. If you test positive or are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend the Trek.
If you have displayed any symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the event we ask you to please not attend the Trek.
If you are planning on using the shuttle service being provided to the start of the course, we please ask that you wear a face covering unless you are exempt.
We ask that social distancing is maintained at the start, mid-point and end venues and on the course, where possible.
GETTING TO THE START VENUE
Ye Olde Greene Manne Pub & Restaurant, Batchworth Heath, Rickmansworth WD3 1QB
By Tube: The nearest Tube station is Northwood on the Metropolitan line. We will be operating a free shuttle service from Northwood to the starting venue from 8am. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please arrive at Northwood at least 30 mins before your chosen start time. The shuttle service will be available from 8am-10am and seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Alternatively, Northwood Tube station is a 25-minute walk to the start venue.
By Bus: The closest bus stop is Batchworth Heath on bus route 331. Please check the bus timetable.
By Car: There are no parking facilities at the start venue. However, there is space for drop off.
If you would like to drive yourself and collect your car after the Trek, we recommend parking either near Northwood Tube or Elstree & Borehamwood Station. However, it will be your responsibility to make your way back to your car after the event, as there will be no additional transport provided by Stylist.
AT THE START VENUE
At the start venue we will ask you to register and sign the event disclaimer. Please pre-read the event disclaimer here (there is no need to print in advance).
Once registered you will receive your Trek participant number and a card with details of the event hotline and medical emergency number.
There will be a complimentary re-fillable water bottle and protein bar, courtesy of our partners Craghoppers and Clif at the start, which you can take on the route as well as, or instead of your own.
All participants will also receive a Strong Women baseball cap.
As soon as you have registered and received your number you will be able to start the course.
Please be aware there will be no cloakroom facilities for this event – participants will need to keep their belongings with them for the duration of the trek.
NAVIGATING THE ROUTE
The course will be self-navigated so you will be able to walk at your own pace.

THE MID-POINT VENUE
The Case Is Altered pub, Old Redding, Harrow HA3 6SE
The Case Is Altered is a pub just past the middle of the Trek route where you can fill up your water bottle, collect a protein bar, use the toilet, or stop off for a quick lunch if you would like to. If you plan on bringing a picnic there is a small grassy area at the front of the pub reserved for Trek participants. Alternatively, you can grab a quick bite and drink in the beer garden. If your family and friends would like to support you, they could always reserve a table for lunch here.
Please note, Stylist will not be providing participants with lunch.
THE FINISH VENUE
Allum Manor House And Hall, 2 Allum Ln, Elstree & Borehamwood WD6 3PJ
At the finish venue, we’ll have your Trek medal, goody bag and a complimentary drink ready for you to collect. Toilet facilities are also available.
The finish venue is across the road from Thameslink station Elstree & Borehamwood. There are regular trains to Kings Cross and London Bridge from here. Please check the train timetable for service information.
There is also a car park at Allum Manor with over 80 car park spaces if you wish to be collected from the finish.
EQUIPMENT ESSENTIALS
- Comfy trainers / trail shoes (or walking boots if it has rained heavily and consistently in the days before the Trek)
- A waterproof in case of rain
- Sunscreen
- Water & snacks (if you plan to bring your own)
- Lunch (unless you plan to purchase food at the mid-point venue)
- Phone and charged portable phone battery (if you have one)
- A face covering (unless you are exempt)

PREPARATION
The Trek is suitable for everyone. However, if you haven’t done much or any hiking before we recommend going on some long walks locally to get used to long-distance walking. This will help you prepare for the 22km/13-mile distance.
