Set yourself up for the day with this concentration-boosting smoothie

When you’re busy and stressed, eating well can fall to the bottom of your to-do-list. This deliciously simple smoothie – bursting with flavour and nutrients – will help to boost your focus and productivity.
It’s no secret that we’re all busier than ever. Often, with a to-do list as long as your arm, a lack of focus and concentration sets in. It’s so easy, when feeling overwhelmed, to flit from one task to the next, without ever really getting anything finished.
If this sounds like you, take heart: we have a delicious and nutritious answer to your productivity woes. This super easy smoothie couldn’t be easier to chuck together - it’s just a case of popping all the ingredients in a blender – perfect for those mornings when you’re rushing out of the door and frankly, breakfast is the last thing on your mind.
Packed full of fruits, healthy fats, nutritious cacao and turmeric (shown in research to boost working memory and processing speed), it’s a delicious way to start your day (or it works as an afternoon pick-me-up if you’re susceptible to the dreaded 3pm slump).
We may not be able to reduce your workload (sorry), but we can help you tackle it with vigour and focus (or at least with a satisfied stomach).
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 handfuls frozen blueberries
- Small handful spinach
- ½ tbsp nut butter
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- ½ tsp turmeric powder or 2 inches turmeric root, peeled
- ¼ avocado (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder (unprocessed chocolate full of nutrients… buy from health food shops, bigger supermarkets and online)
- Pinch black pepper
- 250ml plant milk of choice
Method
- Add all the ingredients to a blender.
- Blitz until smooth.
- Top with berries, if liked, and enjoy!
