Zara has given us a lot of must-have items in its lifetime (remember The Coat?), but – this season – everyone has lost their minds over the high street store’s take on summer’s hottest new trend.
We’re talking, of course, about that £26 gingham skirt.
The midi skirt – with its bold red-and-white print, front button fastenings, and flattering frill details – went down an absolute storm, with customers rushing to their nearest store to get their mitts on one of their own.
However, as is so often the case with high street hits, the item sold out almost immediately, leaving a lot of shoppers feeling positively bereft.
Boo, hiss.

Thankfully, the fashion gods have heard your cries and they have chosen to be merciful (this time around).
The skirt is finally back in stock – and, at time of writing, it’s available to buy online.
It has been stocked in sizes XS, S, M, and L – although the XL option has already flown off the shelves. Which means that you’d better be quick if you’ve got your heart set on this number.
Judging by all the action we’ve seen on the high street, it seems as if gingham is definitely the Prints Charming (sorry) that you’ve all been searching for this summer.
Primark recently sold out of their mid-length gingham summer dress (inspired by the Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy, apparently), with devastated shoppers flocking to eBay and spending up to double the original price.
So you have three options, really: jump on the gingham bandwagon, stat; don a different print entirely (we’re thinking polka dots) and start your own trend; or, y’know, just do you.
