Winter fashion is a minefield made easier thanks to Ugg’s latest launch: waterproof winter boots. And suddenly, winter can’t come soon enough.
Winter wardrobes, rejoice! The long old slog more formally referred to as December might be upon us, but that doesn’t mean our style choices should have to suffer the way our wind-whipped faces will.
The main hurdle when it comes to winter dressing is the sheer unpredictability of the weather. During what has been the warmest year on record for the UK, it’s no wonder there’s a collective ennui around getting cosy this winter. How can anybody think about snuggling up after one of the balmiest Novembers many of us have ever experienced?
The answer, for your feet at least, lies in Ugg boots. The California-based brand revered for its cosy shearling-lined footwear is back this year to warm our feet up and keep them dry in the drizzle with its latest launch: waterproof mini boots.

Available in the standard Ugg sizes – Ultra Mini, Mini and Ultra Tall – the waterproof boots are the solution to sartorial winter malaise. On TikTok, where the #UggBoots hashtag has been viewed almost 150 million times, people are wearing theirs tucked into skinny jeans (which are not dead as far as we’re concerned) and with tights and minidresses. They’re a cool snowboot-style shoe that retains all of the comforts of your favourite slippers, meaning your feet won’t even be able to tell the difference.

This isn’t the first time Ugg has dipped its toe into waterproof footwear. Its neon-coloured Tasman x Ugg clogs were released earlier this year and caused a frenzy on TikTok, where users praised their comfort and colours. The brand has also dappled in waterproof feet covers, which slot on top of your standard suede Uggs and enable you to wear them in the snow.
Whichever style you opt for, the order is clear: pack those heels away, give your feet a break and treat them to a pair of Uggs.
