Wear with flip-flops and basket bags for chic summer style or add a thin knit and knee-high boots as we step into the cooler weeks.

With the weather being so unpredictable we’re cautious in our declarations of the changing of the seasons. But, after spotting leaves now firmly on the floor, we think autumn is well on its way. We aren’t quite ready to change our entire wardrobes just yet so welcome: the transeasonal dress.

Right now, we’re looking for pieces that can change with the seasons, and we think we’ve found it with these nine dresses. While they look incredibly chic when worn alone with a simple sandal, add a thin knit, T-shirt or shirt underneath and suddenly you’ll be stepping into autumn with ease. Plus, a knee-high boot, loafer and trusty pair of tights (or leggings, if the chill really does come through) will only amp up the warmth as well.

Just keep scrolling to see our favourite styles, and remember, reds, creams and blacks are a great go-to once the temperature drops.
