The Cow Stomach Handbag

Since Lady Gaga's iconic (yes, we called it that) meat dress, it seems that any type of beef is fair game in the fashion world.

Design student Jocelyn Mather has created a range of handbags made from Highland cow tripe. If you're unsure what tripe actually is, allow us explain - it's the stomach lining of a cow.

While that might not sound like the most appealing accessory to be hanging from your arm, the collection sounds pretty stylish.

Jocelyn's range is hand-stitched and includes formal clutches as well as dainty handbags. The fastenings are also made using the animal’s horns and bull ring.

Her four statement bags are set to go on display at Edinburgh Napier University’s creative degree show this week until June 2.
