Victoria was at the height of her fame as Posh Spice and David was a world-class player at Manchester United when they met at one of the club's charity matches in 1997. They married in an extravagent wedding in July 1999 in Dublin. They have four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

German actress and former fashion model Diane Kruger and Dawson's Creek actor Joshua Jackson began dating eight years ago after surviving a terrible first date. "I took her to an Italian restaurant, and there was some flower that was blooming. She was allergic to it so she sniffled and sneezed the entire time," recalled the actor in an interview. Kruger, who was previously married to actor Guillaume Canet, recently said, "I'm not married and don't intend to be, and I never believed in love at first sight but I do believe opposites attract". The royal couple met at St Andrews University where Middleton studied Art History and Prince William studied Geography. After a four-year relationship, the pair split, however after getting back together the announced the news everyone had been waiting for on November 16, 2010 – William had proposed to Kate with his mother Princess Diana's sapphire engagement ring weeks earlier, during a holiday in Kenya. They're now officially the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and have one-year-old son Prince George.

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton
Marriage: 1964-1974 and 1975-1976
While on the set of Cleopatra, Taylor met Welsh actor, Richard Burton and their tumultuous romance began. At the time they were both married — Taylor to Fisher and Burton to Sybil Williams — but both were able to end their respective unions to marry each other in 1964. They divorced in 1974 and married once again 16 months later. It was during this marriage that Burton bought his wife what came to be known as the "Burton-Taylor" Diamond, a 69.42-carat pear-shaped stone. Together they adopted daughter Maria Burton.

They were France's most glamourous couple. In the 1970s, English actress Jane Birkin and French musician Serge Gainsbourg charmed and scandalised with their explicit love affair. Their relationship lasted over a decade and in 1971 they had a daughter, the actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg. Although many sources say they were married, according to Charlotte this was not the case. Birkin left Gainsbourg in 1980 due to his addiction to alcohol.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono
Relationship: 1965-1973
Beatles singer John Lennon and artist Yoko Ono married on March 20, 1969 at The Rock Hotel in Gibraltar. Knowing their marriage would be a huge media event, Lennon and Ono held their first“Bed-In for Peace” for a week during their honeymoon in Amsterdam. Lennon added Ono as his middle name by deed poll on April 22, 1969. The pair eventually reconciled and in 1975 they had their only child together Sean Lennon.

They met in New York City at Cafe’s Tobaco in 1994 and went on to become the 'it' couple of the 90s. In 1952, graduate Jacqueline Bouvier met John Kennedy, a congressman, at a dinner party where they were officially introduced. By June 1953, the couple were engaged and three months later the couple tied the knot in a lavish affair with over a thousand guests at the wedding reception. In 1960, Kennedy won his campaign for presidency and they become one of America’s most beloved couples. Kennedy was tragically shot dead during a procession in 1963 and five years later, Jackie married Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis.
