The boho cotton blouse remains a wardrobe staple for spring/summer 2025 and Stylist’s fashion director, Lucy Reber, is here for it. Read on for her expert edit of the best options to invest in now and how to style them for spring and beyond.

Some fashion pieces are truly evergreen. The LBD, I’m looking at you. And the same can be said of a trench coat and the Breton top. These pieces all fall into the forever wardrobe family and form a core of pieces that will always look chic. Their popularity ebbs and flows from season to season, but they’re always in fashion: you’ll never put a foot wrong if you opt for one of these styles.

The boho white cotton blouse very much falls into this category too. I have owned multiple versions over the years, and it has always been a game changer. The beauty of it comes down to its versatility. Although it’s a feminine and pretty piece, it looks best styled with khaki or denim. Dressing it down is key, and that’s why it fits into my minimalist, androgynous wardrobe that would usually have a ‘hard no’ policy on frills or lace. The colour helps: bright whites or neutral creams seem to complement any look and add a crisp freshness that stops it from looking fussy.

Another plus is that the shape is flexible. ‘Boho white cotton blouse’ is a very loose brief – it can be slimline or trapeze-shaped; it can have shoulder frills or a fancy neckline. Pick the shape to suit your needs. The delicate feminine detailing can be a fresh broderie anglaise detail, simple ruffle or antique lace. In short, it’s easy to make the look your own.

Since Chemena Kamali’s appointment in 2023 as creative director at Chloé, there has been a real bohemian resurgence on the catwalks. The spring/summer 2025 shows were a masterclass in laidback lace, with Ulla Johnson, Zimmermann and Chloé – of course – sending beautiful white blouses down the catwalk. And it looks like the trend is set to continue through autumn/winter 2025, with Christian Dior and Isabel Marant embracing boho blouses too.

When it comes to sourcing your ideal blouse, there is a plethora of options on offer. The high street is awash with gorgeous, affordable styles, and both M&S and Zara have lovely boho blouses that are starting to sell out in some sizes – a good indicator, perhaps, of the boho blouse’s popularity. Also, let’s not forget everyone’s favourite for laidback French-girl style – Sézane – who always has perfect examples. Finally, this is such a long-standing trend that you’ll be spoilt for choice on Vinted (a quick check in my size for ‘white blouse boho’ immediately yielded over 500 options).

Read on for my top picks available now for you to add to your online basket. I’ve also included tips on how to style them for fresh spring ease.

Tu white floral embroidered blouse

Tu white floral embroidered blouse

I just love the floral detail on this beautifully intricate blouse.

Wear it now with a chic denim Bermuda short and woven leather bag. Then, for autumn, add a trench coat and wear with wide-leg faded jeans to give an instant 70s twist to your look.

It’s 100% cotton, so it will wear beautifully and you can love it forever.

AND:OR Livia ruffle shirt

And/Or Livia ruffle shirt

The wide ruffled collar of this cotton blouse is perfect. Wear with a pair of slouchy white jeans and square-toe flats for a top-to-toe neutral look that feels completely of the moment.

You could also tuck it into a high-waisted, tailored trouser for an elegant, polished office outfit.

RIXO Maribelle Cotton Blouse

Rixo Maribelle cotton blouse

This is the perfect blouse to team with khaki trousers. I would style it with slouchy cargo trousers, red velvet Mary Janes and an oversized straw basket for a masterclass in off-duty dressing.

The Peter Pan-style collar gives it a vintage feel, making it a real forever piece.
