Tbilisi Fashion Week might be the coolest street style we have ever seen

The hometown of Balenciaga’s main man, Demna Gvasalia, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi serves up some authentic and bold street-style looks

It seems every city is having a fashion week these days, in fact, as we touch down in Tbilisi, Georgia (home to the hottest Eastern-European fashion week), Dundee is hosting their own catwalk extravaganza. It’s hard to keep up.

Home to Balenciaga and Vetements creative director, Demna Gvasalia (notably the most in-demand man in fashion), there was plenty of street style that paid homage to the hometown hero via Eighties power shoulders and logomania.

However the resounding feeling in Tbilisi was that of the Nineties – the nostalgic trend that everyone is here for, from dad trainers and bum bags, to chains and fishnets.

Street style has been a hot topic of conversation this year in regards to its inclusivity and diversity and while Tbilisi is still a very young fashion week, the street style felt authentic and original. It wasn’t as forced or considered as we have seen at the major cities this year, so take summer inspiration from fashion’s latest love-in.
