On a typically bitter Monday night in February, the Stylist team and contributors to our Spring Fashion special braved the wintry weather for an intimate dinner at Clerkenwell's Bourne & Hollingsworth restaurant, to toast the SS17 issue. 

Guests were transported to a setting inspired by the tropical climes of the Caribbean cover shoot, where Dominican model of the moment Ysaunny Brito took Stylist to her home town of Santo Domingo and was shot alongside the women who raised and inspire her.

Warming up was first on the agenda, so Hemingway Daiquiris were served by the fire, a sultry blend of rum, maraschino liqueur, grapefruit and lime.

After a cocktail, or two, guests were led through to the lush greenhouse, a secluded dining spot with cane garden furniture, bold palm print soft furnishings and interlacing foliage and creepers.

Wildabout created the floral display, a nod to our cover trend of reclaiming pink, undoubtedly the colour of the season, with antirrhinum, delphinium, sweet peas and mini-palm plants.

Super star make-up artist Val Garland, hair stylist Ken O’Rourke, stylist Katy Lassen and photographer Agnes Lloyd-Platt – who all contributed to the issue – perused the pages of the new edition while London smoked salmon, capers and fresh horseradish were served, followed by baked cod and crushed celeriac and iced lemon mousse, toffee popcorn and lemon curd for dessert.

Delightful parting gifts of a Maison La Bougie green tea candle, in pink, of course, and emblazed with palm trees were given to the guests.

As the evening drew to a close it was back into the late night chill; but the promise of a new season kept everyone warm.
