Sophie Turner shares first wedding dress photos, and Instagram goes into meltdown again
6 years ago
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas gave us a first look at their French wedding, including a close-up of her Louis Vuitton wedding dress.
The world came to a standstill yesterday (Wednesday 3 July) as Instagram, WhatsApp and Twitter stopped working properly. But thank goodness the apps are back up and running, as Sophie Turner shared the first official photo of her French wedding with Joe Jonas in the wee hours of Thursday morning. She simply captioned it: “Mr and Mrs Jonas.”
And it wasn’t the only picture to get excited about, as Louis Vuitton’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière also shared a close-up photo of Turner wearing the wedding dress made for her by the French fashion house. “Absolut beauty @sophiet,” he wrote alongside the image, which showed off the beautifully elaborate design.
The dress featured a cut-out back, sheer fitted lace sleeves and a full skirt with floral embellishments. It was a totally different look to the understated yet cool jumpsuit she chose to wear for her Vegas ceremony.
Turner recently hinted at Louis Vuitton potentially designing her dress in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “I love the way he sees women,” she said of the creative director. “His clothes are like the characters I gravitate towards: warrior women. They are strong and empowering but also beautifully feminine.”
Turner’s husband Jonas also shared the same photo as her along with the same caption she used. We recently discussed how it was important for Turner and Jonas to take control of their own privacy around this ceremony, after their friend Diplo shared private videos of the initial Vegas wedding.
Although one of their celebrity guests (ahem, Dr Phil) gave away the dates of the ceremony a week before it took place, it certainly feels like they have managed to share as little or much as they wanted to this time round.
If these two pictures of the gorgeous dress are all we get, we’ll be happy with that.
