A first of its kind collection sees three forces come together: Cara Delevingne, Puma and Balmain for a collection sure to tantalise all sartorial taste buds.
Gym kits and athleisure is one of the biggest growing industries (and one of the biggest growing parts of our wardrobe), with leggings, sweatshirts and hoodies taking up just as much space as jeans and jackets. But we don’t just want black leggings and grey hoodies, oh no: we want pieces we can not only look and feel good in, but that also reflect our own sense of style when it comes to everyday dressing, too.
Well, Puma has just delivered on all the above through a collaboration with Balmain and Cara Delevingne. Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing and model Cara Delevingne have been friends and collaborators for a long time with Delevingne serving a prominent member in Rousteing’s infamous ‘Balmain Army’ (a collective of the most famous models in the world).
The collection, sees the pair come together to combine form and function in a boxing-inspired athleisure range. In a teaser trailer for Puma, the pieces (modeled by Delevingne) are a heady mix of glamour and luxe sport with bright bomber jackets, sequin leggings, studded trainers and colour-block dresses.
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily Rouseting said of the collaboration, “It’s really born out of our friendship. She asked me to work with her on this collection with Puma. We had a very clear post of view because we both love boxing. We also wanted to use this collaboration as a platform to promote diversity and inclusivity.”
Whilst Delevingne has served as a Puma ambassador, starring in their campaigns since 2016, this will be the first time the model and actor has worked on product in a collaborative sense. And for Balmain? Well this counts as the brand’s third partnership this season, having previously collaborated with Kylie Jenner on her lip kits and Delevingne herself on a range of exclusive handbags,
The 35-piece collection will drop in store and online on 21st November.
