Spotted all over the catwalks, polka dots are the print taking over the fashion world

From the spring/summer 2025 runway to your wardrobe, this is how to get ahead of one of next season’s biggest print trends: polka dots.
What do Acne Studios, Carolina Herrera and Jacquemus all have in common? Aside from being longstanding powerhouses within the fashion industry, all three designers have put polka dots on the map for 2025. If it isn’t a key colour that everyone is wearing (hello, mocha mousse), it’s a print. And while leopard print has been reigning supreme in the style stakes for quite a while, we know polka dots are about to start leading the way when it comes to spring/summer outfits.
Don’t believe us? We’ll let the runways and high street brands do the talking for us…

At Acne Studios, the ‘nice top’ with jeans look was given a polka dot update. Supersize spotty tops were worn with exaggerated horseshoe jeans and chunky jewellery. An easy look to copy for nights out, dinner dates or after-work drinks, be on the lookout for polka dot tops to give your trusty jeans a revamp.

’Go bold or go home’ was the motto on the Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2025 runway. Corset and bandeau details were key, and this will no doubt translate into occasionwear and summery dresses this year. Voluminous skirts are big news, so get ahead and snap one up. We’ve found a brilliant option you can shop from Ganni.

And it’s only this week that Jacquemus presented the menswear autumn/winter 2025/26 collection (yes, fashion is always looking ahead) and polka dots were seen on the runways in the form of dresses, shoes and bags. If you need proof that this trend is sticking around for the long haul, it’s already being worn by celebrities, including singer Raye (above), who attended the show.
The high street has taken note of the runway’s love for all things spotty, and you’ll find a whole range of dream dresses, tops, trousers and accessories in the shops that’ll easily update your summer looks.

Reformation Clarissa silk top
A top to wear on a night out with jeans and heels or just in the summer with Bermuda shorts and sandals for brunch, this is one of those love-forever tops. You’ll get so many compliments every time you wear it.
Mango polka-dot knitted cardigan
Hello, new office, dinner date and everything in between cardigan. This throw-on-and-go polka dot knit will look just as good over a white T-shirt with wide-leg trousers desk-side as it will with jeans and trainers at the weekend.
River Island scrunchie
If you’re unsure about the trend and don’t want to go for all-over spots, why not try an accessory? This scrunchie can be worn around your hair or even just around your wrist as a fun touch to any outfit.
Realisation Par The Jamie dress
Tapping into the nightdress trend, this silky spotty midi with lace detail is ticking all the boxes. Just call us your wedding guest dress fairies, as this is another strong contender for all the upcoming summer nuptials. And yes, we do think the polka dots make it acceptable to wear to a wedding.
Sister Jane Dream Countess tulle top
Sister Jane always nails expensive-looking silhouettes and love-forever items, and this ‘wow’ tulle top is one of them. Wear with wide-leg trousers, baggy jeans or a mini skirt when the weather warms up.
Me+Em silk polka dot maxi dress
The cuffs, the cutout detail and that corsage neckline all combine to make this Me+Em dress one of those styles you’ll buy now and love forever more. You’ll find any excuse to wear it for the foreseeable.
Rixo x Stripe and Stare lace bralette
When two brilliant brands join forces, great things happen – and this is exactly how we would describe the Rixo x Stripe and Stare collaboration. Combining supersoft lingerie with Rixo’s eye for prints, you’ll want to add these to your lingerie drawer pronto.
Ganni Bou bag
For a little hint of polka dots without going for an all-over print, add this top-handle bag to your favourite coat. Guaranteed to liven it up, you can also get a micro version as a bag charm to add on – this is a mini trend to take note of for 2025.
Ganni satin pocket skirt
Bringing the Carolina Herrera full skirt look into your wardrobe already, this midi skirt will see you through all seasons. Wear for now with western-style boots (the Ganni way) for now and switch to ballet flats come spring. And yes, we definitely want the matching top, too.
