It’s time for a spring clear out…
The blossom pictures taking over your Instagram feed can only mean one thing: spring has finally sprung, and with it comes the promise of a new wardrobe. Your heavyset trousers, midi skirts, cashmere coats, and the knitwear that has been slowly bobbling in your wardrobe is about to meet its final fate in either the ‘keep’ or ‘I’m sorry I loved you, but you no longer spark joy’ pile.
However, we care about clothes, we care about the planet, we care about shopping and dressing in a more conscious way, and, maybe most importantly, we care about our bank balance. As such, there’s no way these pieces are finding themselves anywhere near a bin. Instead, we look to Vestiaire Collective – the leading global resale site for premium and luxury pre-owned fashion – to tell us which of these pieces are going to make us the biggest profit.
Naturally, the classic luxury brands like Chanel, Fendi, Dior and Céline (old not new) all continue to sell well, with sellers often getting close to retail price for the most coveted pieces (Dior Saddle bag, we’re looking at you). However, the surprise wins come in the form of the mid-market brands: Self-Portrait, Cult Gaia, Staud and Ganni (a Ganni piece sells on Vestiaire Collective every five minutes).

So fix up, because if you own any of the following, now’s the time for a re-sale. And if these aren’t the brands sitting in your wardrobe, now is the time to get your hands on them – as Vestiaire Collective report a 40% increase on VIP customers this month alone.
Celine Alphabet Letter Necklace
The necklace that launched a thousand knock-offs (note: don’t try this with Vestiaire, as they have a very strict authenticity policy), there wasn’t a neck this fashion month or last that wasn’t garnered with a giant gold alphabet letter. Sales are up an average of 150% on these pieces (some even more) and getting snapped up like gold dust.
Supreme Cap
Streetwear continues to sell like hot cakes and, in particular, skate-wear sensation: Supreme. If you have a branded cap, get selling – you’ll have enough to buy yourself a new one.
Staud Bag
Scandi brand Staud burst onto the scene with their minimal-fuss bucket bags which have since become an industry insider staple. An accessible luxury brand, the demand is high with bags reselling at retail prices.
Self-Portrait Dress
It’s happened to you hasn’t it? (We know, because it’s happened to all of us). You’ve turned up to a wedding when you really thought you were the only person that found the gem of a dress to find that lo and behold, someone has just as good taste as you? Good job Self-Portrait are re-selling at almost retail price.
Converse x Off White
In fact, make that any Off-White collaboration. Firstly, I applaud you if you own any one of these items, as they are incredibly hard to get your hands one. However, if you’ve had your streetwear fill, there is definitely a buyer waiting to line your pockets for them – at 242% of the retail price.
