Our favourite celebrity Glastonbury looks

By Stylist Team

Glastonbury is the highlight of any music lover's year, but it is fast developing space in the fashion lover's calendar too. This year the celebrities were out in force, looking seriously stylish - despite the mud. The festival may be over, but there's plenty of time to pour over the best looks. From Alexa Chung's metallic playsuit to Sienna Miller's muddy hat, here are Stylist's favourite outfits from the weekend.

Alexa Chung

Style icon Alexa was always set to top the fashion charts at Glastonbury, but she outdid herself with this metallic playsuit. She's just lucky she probably didn't have to wait in the epic queues for the toilet...

Laura Carmicheal and Lily James

What would Lady Grantham say? Downton Abbey's Lady Edith and Lady Rose were looking the very opposite of their characters at the festival, kitted out in wellies, sunglasses and shorts. And we're guessing they didn't have ladies' maids to help them with their hair...

Sophie Ellis Bextor

If we couldn't see Sophie Ellis Bextor's wellies, we wouldn't have realised she was at a festival. SEB looked lovely in a simple white top and high waisted skirt, but the trench coat adds a real touch of class.

Jaime Winston

Getting fully into the festival spirit, Jaime Winston wore this quirky metallic mix, teamed with a very East End fringed leather jacket. Given her pose here, it must have been fun to dance in.

Dolly Parton

How can we miss out Ms Parton? Dolly's performance was a highlight of the weekend, and her diamante studded jumpsuit played a big part in that. Combined with her famous bouffant and make up, the American South has never looked so cool.

Lily Allen

Lily rocked the stage on Friday, but with her set cut short after the electric storm, her clothes had to do a lot of the talking. This amazing Vivienne Westwood skirt disappeared, Bucks Fizz style halfway through her act to reveal a tiny pink playsuit.

Vivienne Westwood

Dame Viv herself was in attendance too, speaking about environmental issues. Seen here backstage with her label's creative director, we love her signature Squiggle pattern wellies - just seen under her floor length skirt.

Sienna Miller

The queen of dressed down chic, Sienna Miller was guaranteed to be looking great at Glasto. We're just not sure if the mud on her hat is an intentional pattern, or just a result of a muddy accident...

Laura Whitmore

TV darling Laura Whitmore had a glamorous Glastonbury, rocking the classic combo of shorts and a parka on day one, and this chic shift dress and plaits the next day.

Cressida Bonas

Rocking a practical-yet-stylish look, Cressida's 90s inspired look of plaited hair, dungarees and Doc Martens still manage to look cool. Hopefully we won't be thinking of her as 'Prince Harry's ex' for long.

Eliza Doolittle and Julian Macdonald

What's the best way to look fashionable? Hang out with a fashion designer. Despite her gorgeous combination of shirt dress, hoops and curls, she was slightly outdone by Julian Macdonald's Western-inspired headgear...

Daisy Lowe

There's never a quiet moment with Daisy Lowe, who captioned this picture saying 'who wants to stand on the left of me?' - if you can't quite see under her hair, the t-shirt reads 'I'm with dreamy'.

Fearne Cotton

Fearne loved her faux fur scarf, featuring it in almost all her Instagram shots from the weekend, but we love her embroidered denim jacket more.

Caroline Flack

Hardened Glastonbury fan Caroline Flack has clearly found what works for her over the years. We love this layered dress and leather jacket combination - perfect for all weathers.

Florence Welch

Boho queen Florence was without her Machine this weekend, but that didn't mean she put her original style to one side. This cowboy-inspired look was a winner.

Ellie Goulding

With a look a lot more rain-safe than her onstage get up (of black trousers and a gold bralet), Ellie kept it casual in a raincoat and cap backstage.

Lauren Laverne

Does anyone do festival fashion better than Lauren Laverne? This combination of a leopard print tea dress and antipodium jacket is possibly the ultimate 'I just threw it on' look - and it wasn't her only hit throughout the weekend, with a winning stripe combo on Sunday.

Rita Ora

A classic festival look - shorts, headscarf and leather jacket, perfected thanks to Ms Ora's amazingly flat stomach and long legs.

Foxes

At her first Glastonbury as a performer, singer Louisa Rose Allen, aka Foxes, got her on-stage style just right. We love her bright pink, matchy-matchy look, and the Dame Edna Everage-worthy shades just add that little je ne sais quoi.

Ireland Baldwin and Lana del Rey

Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland clearly had the time of her life at Glastonbury, as her Instagram shows. This polished backstage snap with Lana del Rey shows Lana in a rare smiley pose, and the two pulling off 'looking clean at a festival' remarkably well.
