For some, a wardrobe of creams, beiges and browns is always going to be more wearable than bright and bold shades.
Thanks to the highly anticipated Barbie movie (in cinemas from 21 July, if you don’t already have the date in your diaries), the world has gone mad for all things pink. In fact, it’s hard to walk down the high street without seeing shoes, dresses, jeans and more in the vibrant summertime shade. But for those of us who aren’t quite sold on the palette – no matter how hard we try to style it – there are still plenty of neutral-toned picks to play with.
Dressing like an oat milk latte isn’t really anything new, with creams, beiges and browns making up a large proportion of our wardrobes for what seems like forever. But thanks to social media, and the rise of the #neutral aesthetic, the colours have become part of many people’s signature style.
The shades are chic, clean and incredibly easy to wear, meaning they will work in almost anyone’s wardrobe and for any occasion. So, if your love for neutrals is stronger than your penchant for pink (or blue, green or any other bright and bold tone), keep reading below to see Stylist’s edit of 11 slightly more muted pieces – trousers, shorts and dresses all included.
