Not content with producing handbags that put the fashion pack into a frenzy, Mulberry has now also found success in the world of fashion films with Skirt, a specially commissioned short film which yesterday won a 2012 Vimeo Award.

With a judging panel that included Thierry Mugler creative director, Nicola Formichetti, and Showstudio’s Nick Knight, Skirt scooped the top prize - and $5,000 - in the Fashion category of the awards which took place last night in New York as part of the Vimeo Film Festival, the video sharing website's celebration of creative filmmaking.

Shot by talented British director Amanda Boyle and starring Game of Thrones actress Natalia Tena alongside actor Alex McNally, the quirky short is certainly not your average catwalk production, focusing instead on the imaginative interaction between the two inhabitants of a Bethnal Green flat, and their relationship with the possessions that define them. It’s a very amusing watch.
