Mulberry's Monster A/W 2012 Campaign

Mulberry’s Autumn/Winter collection charmed us with its ‘Where the Wild Things Are’-esque fantasy of shaggy fur and sheepskin – and now the brand have launched a fairy tale campaign to match.

Shot by British photographer Tim Walker (lavish, fantastical photo shoots are his trademark), the Autumn Winter 2012 campaign plays on the romance and darkness of children’s fairy tales.

In her third campaign for the label, Doll-like model Lindsey Wixon is pictured frolicking in a dreamlike English forest dressed in key looks from the collection (that shaggy fantasy fur, an eye-popping orange dress plus the latest Del Ray, Alexa and Maisie bags, of course), encountering the kind of huge furry monsters you used to imagine under the bed/sink/in the cupboard.

The campaign’s Art Director Ronnie Cooke Newhouse says the photos are “iconic, ironic and a little bit naughty.” Photographer Tim Walker has said “Ever since I was a little boy, I always hoped to see a monster in the woods. Now, we all get to.” And us? Aside from wanting the shaggy coat for this miserable June weather, we can’t stop humming “What’s that coming over the hill…is it a monster, is it a monster?”
