It’s the season for fabulous fashion exhibitions, and the Design Museum’s latest showcases iconic illustrations from the finest fashion houses of the 20th and 21st centuries
Exquisite original drawings from the collections of Chanel, Dior, Comme des Garcons, Poiret, Lacroix, McQueen and Viktor & Rolf will be displayed, celebrating the changing face of fashion through the decades.
It’s the project of passionate fashion drawing expert Joelle Chariau, who chose one hundred and fifty illustrations from an archive of over two thousand. His carefully selected images will hang among footage of the artists at work and film clips of the fashion shows where the pieces first appeared.
Best of all there will be a chance to meet and mingle with some serious fashion icons. On 29 November Manolo Blahnik will be interviewed about his delicious shoes before signing copies of his new book Manolo’s New Shoes.
