In a luxurious affair, the Italian capital boasted three major debuts and the usual big-name players. Without further ado, here are our favourite looks straight off the catwalk.

As things wrapped up in London, the fashion set migrated across the pond to Milan where the city was abuzz with parties and presentations. Headliners included Peter Hawkings, who paid homage to his mentor and house founder at Tom Ford. Meanwhile, Sabato De Sarno made his mark on the industry after taking the helm at Gucci as creative director following Alessandro Michele’s sudden departure last year.

Moschino commemorated its 40th anniversary with high-profile stylists Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Katie Grand, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and Lucia Liu dreaming up a fabulous collection inspired by Franco Moschino’s visionary designs.

With over 150 presentations to see, look no further than our ultimate Milan Fashion Week digest. From ethereal slime (yes, slime) styles at Prada to slick and sexy silhouettes at Tom Ford, we’ve rounded up our favourite looks from the Italian capital.

Prada’s spring/summer 2024 collection will forever stick in our memory – not only for the slime-filled runway but the lightweight and esoteric ‘jellyfish’ dresses. Placing an emphasis on the ‘ugly’, models donned unkempt wigs, goblin head handbags and deliciously low square-toed heels. We are obsessed.

Fendi

Vibrant, serotonin-boosting pops of colour – from citrusy shades to hi-vis fluoros – enlivened the Fendi catwalk. Sophisticated logo-emblazoned silk dresses made a joyous appearance, as did a new shopper-style bag, aptly named ‘The Flip’.

Tom Ford

Tom Ford always conjures up images of high-octane glamour, and this year’s collection was no different – sexing things up with jewel-toned velvet blazers, sultry silky shirts, signature specs and dresses that left very little to the imagination.

Max Mara

While colour-block brights made an impact at Fendi, Max Mara boasted more tonal offerings, sticking to a palette of neutral tones. Strappy playsuits with belted waists, itty-bitty hot-pants and apron-front pencil dresses added a youthful finish to the collection.

Suit up! Boss brought the court room to the catwalk with timeless tailoring pieces, sharp silhouettes and statement eyewear. Models served stealth-wealth à la Gwyneth, with pens threaded through hair, carrying notepads, umbrellas and tiny handbags for accessories.

Pared-back minimalism at its finest, the Tod’s collection drew from a colour palette of earthy neutrals and bursts of colour. Think sleek separates, leather gloves and razor-sharp pleats in beige, bone, autumnal orange and bright blue, all worn contrasted together for dramatic effect.
